Welcome to Dilquin Poodles!

Hello and welcome to my website about my Standard Poodles.  My name is Cindy Harvey and my poodles and I reside in central Alberta, Canada.

My family always had pets, and after the tragic death of a relative, we welcomed into our home our first poodle, a blue miniature named Cuddles.   In 1988, I walked into my father's house and saw the most adorable white toy poodle performing tricks at the tender age of 5 months.  She was adorable and like all novice people, I told the breeder I want a boy just like that!

I loved Buster, but quickly realized that small dogs were not for me, so I started doing my homework.

Buster on the A-Frame At the dog shows I would check out all the hypo-allergenic dogs and found myself constantly drawn to Standard Poodles.  I met a wonderful lady, Marg Praisley, who let me sit and read old Poodle Variety magazines and play with her poodles, Tim and Cass.  It was through Marg that I got my first standard poodle, Can. Ch. Quincy is a Dandee, CD on October 25th, 1995.  This started my love affair with this wonderful breed.

Why Dilquin? Well, that is the combination of Dillon & Quincy, my first two St. Poodles.  Quincy was an abused, neglected rescue dog, and you can read his and Dillon's stories here: "Why Dilquin?"

Please feel free to wander through my site and contact me if you have any questions or would just like to talk poodles.
